Marklin 382
From time to time Marklin 382 Banana wagon appears with brown roof. Even auction houses claim there was brown roof (described as 1936 - 1950). Final year of production seems reasonable because 382 does not appear in catalogs after 1950.
Pre-war catalogs were in color, so it`s easy; the roof of 382 is always white. Then, there is a gap between 1940 -1947. Although freight wagons in catalogs after WW II are depicted in black and white,it is obvious that the roof should be white (compared with darker roofs on other wagons in the same row, with exception for year 1949 where roof colors are inconclusive in B&W).

1.question: do you think 382 banana wagon with brown roof existed at all, or it was replaced, i.e. taken from 381 or 389, or repainted when original white color was badly damaged ?

2. question: I happen to have one 382 with brown roof.
What do you think I should do with it ? Repaint or just leave it like this ?

Thanks. Have a nice day.
