Hi everyone,

Another day, another problem I can’t seem to get my head around.

Some time ago I bought the Roco SNCF shunter, it’s a great little runaround. I usually have it run the track cleaner since it has factory power pack already installed.

One thing I’m having trouble with is the rear coupler, it doesn’t seem to release the wagons when required. I press the button, it backs up and goes forward again. I hear a faint click, the lights go out momentarily.

The front couplers seems to work perfectly well, lights stay on and it releases the wagons every time!without fail. I’ve inspected the mechanism by taking the plate off, tried swapping the couplers but I get the same result every time.

Occasionally, it will work but it’s usually short lived and after I take it apart.

I know it’s not the coupler, could it be the decoder or the small magnet?

Anyone else have any issues with there? I’m contemplating buying another, I noticed a new one at half price. I can then keep this one for spares rather than send it back for repairs.

Many thanks,

Eddie
