In my opinion none of this company should have starting their own decoder. |

2024 sees the 100th anniversary of the inception of the DRG. This and the 2023 insider coach set possibly shows where 2024's new items may head. It's been a long time since Marklin did a (DRG) coach set using these coaches. Hopefully, 2024 will see a boost to the ep2 range (of all manufacturers). Era 2 has been a bit neglected for a few years now. |

I have the BR62 ordered. With automatic couplings and synchronised smoke. A.

Märklin did present new sound decoder Plux22 so i believe Märklin will present new digital locomotives like V60 for both Märklin and two rail Trix will have same sound decoder with Plux22. |

Well I saw an announcement in the January Railway Modeller that Heljan are going to produce a series of models of the LNER Garrett, in various liveries - but delivery isn't until 2025 ...

Edited by moderator 13 December 2023 12:35:32 | Reason: Changed topic @Goofy - to answer your question: "Will this means Märklin present new V60 with new tooling and new motor?" My answer is no. The decision to discontinue any current model, does not automatically mean that it will be replaced immediately. If you were looking for an answer to this, slightly different question: 'Will this means Märklin present new V60 with new tooling and new motor in 2024?' My answer is maybe. Perhaps the larger question that you need answered is: Does Marklin have a program of upgrading all locos with new tooling and new motors? My answer is I hope so. I hope that that helps you to understand my confusion. |

A new smoother model would be nice but not at the top of my list. |

If you may, I will put it the right way The Metropolitan is indeed a common study (Piko will provide the rolling stock and each brand will provide their own version of the lok). But the BR218 is not. Marklin used their own version of the BR218 (they already have their tooling). And Piko used their HOBBY version of the BR218. The only part in common is the livery on which you see both brands. That's all! The HOBBY design and the Märklin design are VERY different. A.

I did not connect that because AFAIK the two BR 218 models were completely separate from each other and the only thing that the models had in common was that Piko and Maerklin were sponsors and their companies logos were painted on the prototype of the model. Each one used their own moulds to make their model. Regards Mike C

Some speculation and anniversaries coming up:
- 100th anniversary of the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG) - 100th anniversary of the introduction of the DRG Class E77
We might see some sort of E77 anniversary set celebrating both its and DRGs 100th anniversary, maybe
- 75th anniversary of the East German Deutsche Reichsbahn
Since we saw britsh H0 from Märklin this year: - 90th anniversary of the LNER Class P2 - 95th anniversary of the LNER Class W1 "Hush Hush"
French stuff - 50th anniversary of the TGV 001s speed record of 318 km/h - 80th anniversary of the SNCF CC 14100 french "crocodile"
I also believe we will get another A3, since Märklin must have invested quite a bit in the development of the Flying Scotsman. Perhaps a Green Swedish Rc loco since they've released one in 2022 and one in 2023 after the new tooling? Märklin Digital was introduced in 1984 and is thus celebrating its 40th anniversary

The ETR 470 is back from Rivarossi in Cisalpino and SBB (silver) liveries (DC Only in Catalog). Also two 4-coach sets for the Holland-Italien Express which will look amazing behind an Ae 6/6 or Re 4/4II

It's all very well Marklin announcing new models but it'd be nice if they could release them in good time! They seem to have difficulty with earning my hard earned cash by delivering new locos in particular to dealers.

It seems the Danish version is almost the same. This loco will probably sell out fast in Sweden. I've seen rumours and wishes for the model all the time since the Danish version read released. |
