I couldn't find the meaning of the "C" in "C track", and I was going
to ask the forum, but my wife (who teaches German) found it:

https://de.wikipedia.org...eistypologie_der_Spur_H0
  • M is Metall
  • K is Kunststoff ("plastic")
  • C is Click

"Click" starts with a "K" in German, so the "C" seems to be a marketing thing.

Officially Klick starts with a K in German, but German develops more and more into Denglish.

At that time, the term K Track was already in use, so they needed a different letter.

I thought that it was named "C" track because the original pieces would become brittle and "Crack"
