Hi,

just ordered this BR41 029 Delta from eBay. The seller had no clue what the Märklin catalogue number is and I'd like to have it and manuals in my archive. Can anyone please help me with that?

Hi Eino,

Here is another topic on the 29815 loco as Tom has suggested.
https://www.marklin-users.net/fo...815---lights-not-working

I have this loco (it has a Delta decoder) and am very pleased with it.
The link to a suitable instructions set (except for motor and decoder) is on the Märklin site for loco 37921.

For any person wishing to reset the decoder for digital running (many of these were set to analogue at the factory) here is the instruction:

Thanks.

I found this after looking at Tom’s link: https://wiki.3rail.nl/in...php/Märklin_3082.40

This seem to provide useful info.

I will change the insides to mSD3 and 60941 anyway.

Hallo Eino, I also find wiki.3rail very interesting, but did you also get the manuals you mentioned.??
In addition I will not be amazed if it is not available from Marklin.
But I hope you managed.
Thanks,
HANNES

I recommend that you use the Märklin Technical documents search, as it goes back a bit further than the product pages
https://www.maerklin.de/en/service/instructions-spare-parts/technical-documents
but often it does not contain manuals for all locomotives or sets, so often you have to try another number for a slightly earlier or later release etc.
so try the manual for e.g. the 3392 or the 37921 etc.

Hello Eino,

From Koll's Katalog one can see the Märklin Catalogue number for your particular
BR 41 road number (41 029) is 3082.
As noted here on this forum before, it came in Zugpackung 29815 and 29816.
It would seem to be Koll's version 3082.40 (detailed very nicely in Tom's 3rd Rail Wiki link)

Whilst it was made in 2001 and is Delta digital controlled, the inner mechanical parts of the loco should be the
same as the other prior 3082s, as also noted here. (Except of course for the delta digital unit and digital lights).

I also have the locomotive 3082 :

From Koll's description, I think mine is 3082.3 (1982-92) and was analogue.
My compatriots on this forum might be interested that it was purchased new by the original owner
in Australia from "Toyman" in Sydney in July 1983 for A$121.
I bought it secondhand from Peter at Narabeen ("Toy Collectables"), Sydney (business sold later to
"Train Trader" at Pymble, now closed) in October 2009 for A$269.
I have since converted it to digital, initially with a 6080 decoder and later to an ESU Lokpilot v4.0
together with conversion to a 5-pole motor, LEDs and a smoke unit.

I have copied the "manual" (folded up pamphlet) that came in the box with my loco and the images are
below. You will see the "manual" is not specific for the loco but generic for a Märklin steam engine, as
was the form in those days, there were not the detailed manuals for each loco that we see today.

You would probably find the exploded parts diagram more useful.
As you noted, they did not seem to open from the Märklin site referenced link.

Here is the exploded parts diagram :
3082_explo copy.pdf (191kb) downloaded 20 time(s).

Have fun

Koll maps starter set locos to single-loco numbers - and takes great liberty in that process.
Koll maps the digital locos from 29815/29816 to the old analogue 3082 loco.
Locos 3392 or 3792 probably would have been better matches from a technical point of view.
In lack of any other documents, 37921 can also be a source for information.

3082.40 is a Koll catalogue number, not a Märklin catalogue number.
Regards
Tom

Hello Tom,

Thank you for your wisdom and guidance.

Is that not intrinsic to his broad listing of the "model family" chart?

That is why I actually said :

I have this very same loco.
It is still Delta 3-pole, but runs very well! (no plans to change anything)

Even though the upper part is probably identical to the older 3082, there´s something about the chassis and wheels which looks nicer.
Not only is it blackened, but the rods and wheels seems finer too.
Also, there are the additional plastic-inserts with brakes, sandpipes, skirts, NEM-shafts, etc., which the older 3082 didn´t have. (Compare closely with the photo shown by PJMärklin)

When I compare closely with the newer BR44´s that I have, I can clearly see the NUMEROUS additional fitted parts on these newer locos.
But when running on the layout, I can´t see any difference. The BR41 seems just as nice with its molded-on details...
Best regards

Koll is the man who published a Märklin H0 collector catalogue until a few years ago. All in German, of course.

Ah! Thank you! This is what I need to have Love

I can see there are new catalogues for different years, even 2023, are they cumulative, so they contain everything from the very beginning?

I mean do I get everything if I buy the latest?

Yep. 2018 was the last year with pictures. You need three books if you want everything with pictures. Or one Compact edition without pictures.
