Hi I am a new member to this forum although I have been reading posts here for many years. I have bought a used CS3. I have updated and restored (restore startconfig.zip) this. But after I turn it on again after shutdown I can't see the track plan. Only an empty square marked "Startpackung"
What to do. Grateful for any advice.

Welcome henna! When you did the complete restore to your CS3, the track plan is removed along with all other items and articles. "Startpackung" is the empty track plan.
I suggest the online simple manual, which is only very basic. In addition, there are may Youtube videos to watch and learn from. Trainfun guy is German, and very knowledgable. Also the Marklin digital webibars hosted by the two American official digital club experts, Curtis Jeng, and Rick Sinclair. Curtis is a software pro., and Rick is the Marklin USA tech. and repair person. They cover drawing track plans, installing Locomotives, items, and articles, as well as events for automatic operation.
You can also buy the Big Book; Operating trains digitally with Marklin CS3, and plus. revised and updated English item #03093.

Hello and thank you for your reply. As you can probably see, I am a beginner in the digital world even though I have been collecting Märklin since 1967. I have bought the large manual Controlling Digitally with the Central Station 3 but have not received this yet. Thanks for the tip regarding Trainfun gun. I haven't seen that Youtube channel before.

Best regards,

Henrik

Hello henna.

Definitely start with the book that you have already ordered. It covers the basics up through the more advanced options and it will give you a solid grounding.

Then when you need more detail your can watch videos on Youtube or ask the nice folks here on the forum, who love to help.
Regards,
Jim

I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
So many trains and so little time.

Just do a search on Marklin CS3, or modeltrainfunguy.
