Hi

Is it comment that trailers doesn't fit the wagons and you need cut off rear bumper Confused

Trailer seems to be a old cheap construction from Herpa with parts that's should have be removable.

Even any of the three bracket doesn't fit with the Herpas trailer.

Everything fits if using Photoshop like their own picture Mad

The bottom line is that we thinking us paying for a quality product and the first thing you have to do is start cutting to get it fitting............

Hello Jonas,

I have a number of the Märklin deep-well flat cars with trailers and I have found them fiddly - the best word I can use to describe them.
Certainly the pictures published in the Märklin literature and on the boxes are not physically correct for the position of the trailer in the car!
Setting up a full train of these to run on a layout is an hours work.

However these are models of detailed structural form and they are ..... well, just fiddly.
Märklin do supply the parts to accept a few variations.
I do not see any other way for a manufacturer to design them to suit all the different trailers likely to be used by the modeller.

I have a number of the Hupac cars (47441, 47444, etc) and others (47440, 47443). Each one came with two little bags, one containing the parts for containers and the other containing the parts for trucks.

I wanted to put a Herpa "Mainsped" trailer on one of the Hupac ones, but the design of the ones that came with Maerklin cars was slightly adapted. The bumper bar at the rear of the trailer was longer on the commercial Herpa model and it did not sit 100% correctly in the cradle of the car. I have since moved that "Mainsped" trailer to a Piko T3000 and it fits there.
Other models I tested had spare tires which interfered with the use. That was another correction that trailers like the Bertschi one on 47444 had modified.

The standard Herpa fixation is a round pin with an arrow on one side. It must be inserted at a 90 degree angle to hold on to the fifth wheel (or the Maerklin or Piko) mounting plate.

Regards

Mike C

One thing for sure, if you look at these earlier trailers, the bumper has been moved up on the trailer Huh

It does not look as it's supposed to, and the wagon doesn't hold the right dimensions either.

Then Herpa delivered the wrong undercarriage of the trailer and Märklin didn't do a test.... and its missing parts for locks wheels.

Means that you will have to modify the trailer to fit the wagon Mad

I have an older Roco one, and the rear bumper is hinged and clears the wagon and well.

I don't know! Says Roco on the Schenker tarp trailer bottom also. The well brace is adjustable, and the front knuckle. It's from the very early 90's.
