Hi,

I’ve ran to a problem I’ve been trying to google up with english and german keywords, but have not found the answer yet.

I’ve programmed an mSD3 decoder to have all the 32 functions available and with the latest firmware. Loco is controlled with MS2 on version 3,55. Everything works with DCC as expected, but with MFX, only 24 first functions are available.

This is true to several locos.

In all Märklin documentation it is stated that there are 32 functions available, but is this not true for MFX?

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
-Eino

Could be. I'll ask my friend, since this is an issue he is facing.

also get the ms2 updated, 3.55 is the earliest version that could handle more than 16 functions, I would strongly recommend he take it to a dealer and get it updated to at least 3.148, or the recently released 4.1. after doing that certainly update the trackbox.

Hi Eino
Not sure if this is it but mSD3 have 32 fonctions only when in MFX mode: must program and operate in MFX
Cheers

Operation is done with MFX (tested with DCC also, obviously), but do you mean that other protocols has to be turned off?

DCC works like magic though.

I never had this problem because I program and operate with MFX and all have 32 fonctions.
In the manual it says page 26 "The settings and digital functions can only be used in digital operation. However, the same possibilities are not available in
all protocols. (This is an understatement not to say that in MM2 or DCC there are less fonctions because of the protocols).
See here https://static.maerklin....bb60f4f6131663855985.pdf

You may have to disable MM2 and DCC protocols on your decoder to have access to all fonctions. This may require the use of a CS3 CS2 or Märklin LokProgrammer.
Cheers
