Brought a BR 89 30000 with plastic body with MFX run's well I'm not a fan of plastic lok's. E-bay if flooded with old analog BR 89's after looking a manual they have metal body's is it a case of undoing the screw on Steam dome and changing them over ?

Where did you get the idea that the 3000 has a metal body? I've seen only plastic ones, in fact the very first version that I have that was made around 1950 has a plastic body.

You have to remember that the Br89 is an entry level model, so is built to a price, hence the plastic body.

Since when did a 3000 have a metal body. Have I missed something.

They are all plastic bodies from the cm800 all the way through to the latest. There has never been a problem with the plastic bodies on them.

Of you want a small steam loco withal metal body, you should sell the 30000 BR89 and replace it with a BR80, they have good detail and are well built.

The current model is in the start up type and is plastic. Any previous that I can see are also plastic. The loco has Been one of the cheapest to buy and thus will not be metal. What is the model number that has the metal body.

That icon means metal chassis, not body. If body was also metal, the icon should be completely black
