Hi Everyone,
I'm confused with the readings I get with my ECos when looking at CV1. When I use the search for CV1 value on the ECoS with my mfx loco, it shows a value of 3. When I go into "Edit Loco" the address shows a value of 60. Why is this so ?

Regards

Greg
Take it easy . . . . or any other way you can get it !!!!

Hi!

I'm not sure what you see.
But Märklin decoders have different addresses for MM protocol and DCC protocol. When you read CV 1 under DCC, you will see a value valid for DCC. CV 1 contains the address if a short address is enabled and 3 is the default even for Märklin decoders.
Under mfx the ECoS probably shows the MM address which often depends on the prototype class. 60 is the Delta address for railcars.
The CS2 shows the mfx address on the properties screen. The mfx address is usually different from the MM and DCC addresses.

Tom

What protocols does your Ecos stand in position?
If you use Märklin locos Ecos can also use M4 protocol and it explain why it shows another adress and not DCC 3.
If you switch off protocol M4 by disabled it Ecos will use DCC with adress 3.
Modern loco decoder and the digital system like CS3 and Ecos can prioritize protocol.
Märklin loco do always have priority in correct way mfx, DCC and MM.
Other manufacture do have DCC, M4 and Selectrix in correct way.
Depends what kind of decoder too.
Also make sure if mfx decoder have CV 50 value by disabled unnecessary protocols.
The adress CV1 can only be changed on the programming track.

DCC = Digital Command Control
