The topic has come up on another forum in re this set. The question came up as to whether these cars were sourced by Märklin from Liliput, as some of Liliput's offerings are similar. As I have both the Adenauer and a few of Liliput cars in the same vein, yet I can not see whether there is any common basis for all of them (other than a 10-5/8" (27 cm) length and some bits and bobs that look to be kind of similar).

Perhaps we have already discussed this here, but I could not find it. Does not bother me at all, by the way, if they are Liliput origin, just trying to track down information for the good of the history.Cool

Thanks all!

Hi!
The Liliput car is completely different from the Märklin version.

having the 43229 and other Märklin Schürzenwagen's, I can say they are from the same production line. so unless Märklin outsourced all Schürzenwagen's, they are made by Märklin.
Märklin also made some variations with the Blauer Enzian set's 42615/42615.

I have had both Märklin and liliput Schürzenwagens, and they are different tooling. The liliput ones are shorter than Märklin and the finish is not as good.

I have the Salonwagen 10 205 Köl from Märklin and from Liliput. They both have the same length and the interior details are much better with the Liliput model.
