As long as the pad frame doesn't contact the rails, and the tank is isolated from the axles. Or if the pad frame is from the tank.

Hello heinrichhess,

I use it with no problems on my Marklin K-track layout. There were no modifications required aside from fitting a Kadee coupler to one of my locos (NEM pocket). Very easy mod.

I really like this track cleaning car. I fill the tank with isopropyl alcohol and run it around the layout a few times per month. I use Train Controller (RailRoad & Co.) and created a schedule that includes all tracks (no stub ends). Running the track cleaner using this schedule eases the task and automates the process. Cleaning tracks was never enjoyable for me, so this setup was a "no brainer" for me. I just run the schedule and go have supper. When I return, the process is done and I can enjoy running trains.

Hope this helps.

I bet creating that route and watching your track cleaning car do it's magic just happens to also be a whole lot of fun. ThumpUp
Regards,
Jim

I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
So many trains and so little time.
