Hello, I recieved this software a couple of days ago and am in the process of creating a plan of my already existing layout so I can make some needed changes. Unfortunatley, the manual lacks detailed explanations. Does anyone know of an English speaking discussion forum for wintrack? Regards Craig |

There are number of us here that use Wintrack. If you tell us of your problem perhaps we can sort it out for you. Ira |

All, thanks for the offers to help!. I continue to learn more as I go. I have printed out the manual, but it seems to be a bit sparse, other than telling one what the buttons are for. I wish there were some examples. After posting this I did find a tutorial on the very basics of the program. That helped a bit. I have managed to input my current layout, but the specific problem I have is I have not been able to figure out how to get the track on a lower level to be identified as underground or tunnel track. Without this track identified as tunnel track, in the 3D mode, it shows as a ravine. Additionally, I am trying to figure out how to create a platform for the upper level on which to put structures, etc. So far my upper levels show as ridges on which the track runs.

For tunnels you can select all the tracks that are supposed to be a tunnel, then right click on one of the tracks and select properties (I think it's properties at least, I only ever used the German version), from there you can set track to be tunnel or bridge for example. |

Different level:
Select the rails and adjust the height in the properties page.
On the drawing board all layers lay on top that's why I put every different level of my layout on an other layer of WT.
The ramping goes in teh same manner: select and adjust (here u can choose between % or actual height!

thank you Alberto, The Windigipet forum is nice, especially with an English forum, much like Railroad & Co's. You inspired me to go to the Wintrack forum and using the babelfish translation site, to try to read the english translation, that allowed me to find some and download some track plans I can study. cheers, craig |
