I finally got my BLS Be6/8 Breda from ACME. Very nice, but good for display.
I couldn't make it run without trouble on my K rails. With slider at front it can either pass, make a short or derail on long switches, the other way the plow hits the center studs and blocks the engine ( and seems properly inserted ).
Besides, the only function are headlights, with lower headlights much brighter than the third one. And there should be a shunting light on F8 but nothing happens. Not much for a 360 € model without sound.

Are there other experiences or info from Swiss shops?
Thanks

Too bad! I have been eagerly awaiting this model.

Maybe it performs better on C track?

In the German Stummi forum I read a remark about some kind of plastic or foam inserts that seem to be inserted inside the bogies/trucks for transport protection. These must be removed before operation. Is it possible that these are still within the model?

I have to admit I also had to return/exchange mine for something else. The issue is my actual layout. There are two grade changes that slightly coincide with curves. The ACME Ae 6/8 could not handle them and derailed frequently.

I did debate whether I keep it as a showcase queen but opted for an exchange instead.

I didn't find any foam in mine, it's fixed to plastic base with two long screws.
However after removing the plows it runs well on nearly all switches. Probably designers don't know that center studs of K switches are higher than those of C switches, and test the engines on C rails only.
Besides, I found a noticeably bent buffer.

I can see how they cut that corner knowing they rarely offer anything in DC< but surprising as I find acme to be rather good in general...
