Can anyone tell me who made this tank car, and hopefully also the model number? Does anyone know what company the "BOV" logo with crossed rock hammers is for? It's all plastic except for the metal couplers. Thanks in advance! Brian

Thank you, Unholz! It's definitely the Liliput 225 A/6. Mine is missing the ladder/railing and the undercarriage piping, but I can see where they would have been attached. The color matches.
Great link to the history also. Since the car's labeling indicates it's Austrian, would this be a replica of a war-time BV car while BV controlled distribution there?

Hi Brian,
Yes, the model itself is quite an old Liliput (Austria) production, I would guess from the late 1950's to the early 1960's. And the "B. B. Österreich" standing for the owner of the car also seems to indicate a pre-war or wartime vehicle.
But please be aware that Liliput did not necessarily regularly change the road numbers of their cars and trucks for each individual series in those days, so you might well be able to see this specific number plate/labeling also on a green BP or a yellow Shell tank wagon, etc. Printing was costly and not as easy as it is now, and Liliput was a price-conscious manufacturer.
Enjoy your piece of history!
Regards, Stefan
