Dear Members,

Being new to Scale 1, I would BE very grateful, if I could have an information on the Br38. Long ago, there were versions in AC (5797) and DC (5747).

I would like to know: what were the main differences from the electric perspective? Was it just the absence of an electro-mechanic inverter and its replacement by diodes in the DC version? And, if so, is ir possible to convert the DC locomotive in AC, just adding an inverter?

Thanks so much

Cool

As far as I remember; but not 100% sure , there are two different DC-versions; one version made on an old coffee-grinder AC-motor
and the other version made with a DC-motor.

If you have it with the DC-motor and wants it to run AC, the best you can do IMHO is to fit a decoder.

Per.

Cool
