Märklin replacement carbon brushes:
I was looking at carbon brushes in the 1950's catalogues and found there are a few different types of brushes. So I thought they maybe of interest to others.
No.E600300 Copper gause and carbon brush for LFCM, SFCM. No.E600350 Copper gause and carbon brush for 3015, 30159, 36159, ET800, ST800 etc.
No.60033 Brushes catalogued for slow running, 2X carbon, dimensions the same as E600300. No.60038 Brushes with brush springs. copper gause and carbon brush. Dimensions same as E600350. Older versions have a cover on the carbon brush, newer version such as E600350, do not. No.60054 brushes for HAMO locomotives, 2X carbon, dimensions same as E600300. The internal resistance in the brushes were measured. The carbon brushes in 60054 have about 1Ω, those from 60033 about 3Ω. Of course, these are rather approximate values that were determined with a hobby multi-meter, but at least the difference is significant and reproducible.
No.60041 brushes for gauge 1 locomotives (2X carbon, dimensions same as 600350)
No.60152 Large, rectangular brushes gauge 1
No.601460 High copper and carbon compound. These are for HLA, DCM-3pole, DCM-5pole and similar 5-star drive rotors.
A few statements are just taken from the internet and not verified.
