Of course this is annoying, but the harsh criticism stems from the political opposition. Furthermore this is about an "exotic" narrow gauge connection on the northern Spanish coast, while the article's images show Spanish standard gauge trains. Reminds me of the 2014 French platform saga, which forum member Yumgui - who has professional insight into that topic - put into perspective at that time - see post #7: https://www.marklin-user...are--too-wide#post457684 |

There was a somewhat similar case in the UK concerning new trains for lines in the Soiuth of England. It was in the pre-privatisation days when for the UK right wing press a journalist could do no wrong if they ran a "British Railways bad" story whether it was true, untrue or an outright lie. Anyway the headlines screamed about building trains that woulds not fit the tracks. The truth was that rather than build a new generation oif narrow carriages, it had been decided that normal size would be built and the p;inch points on the lines concerned would be widened out. Apparently one paper actually checked the facts but ran the story anyway because they thought it to good not to. Bob M.

Both according to my 1598 page (2kg) dictionary, yes actually still use one. ' ruler/'ru:lǝ/ n. 1 a person exercising government or dominion. 2 a straight usu. graduated strip or cylin- der of wood, metal, etc., used to draw lines or meas- ure distance.☐☐ rulership n. ' Laser measuring device. I use one most of the time, just doesn't roll off the tongue. Or it could more stupid. My mileage last year was X kilometres. Anyway some of my rulers, have about another half dozen (6) of them!

I guess it can happen when Spain has more older tunnels than France, Germany, etc. and they buy Siemes and Bombardier trains.

Please notice that the trains with problems are not high-speed ones, but one metre gauge, mainly commuter trains, to be designed and made completely in Spain by CAF. Regards

Not so "Lucky Montana" and even more unlucky South Africa. I am deeply saddened to hear what SA has suffered in terms of its rail infrastructure. One day when I was nostalgically looking at rail lines to Simon's Town near Cape Town on Google Maps I noticed that beach sand had completely silted over sections of the rail lines. I then followed the rails along and saw no trains until I noticed rolling stock rusting away at the main yard in Cape Town. I thought at first it might be due to Covid travel restrictions, but alas... far far worse for decades. Can anyone tell me where to read the best update of the current state of trains that actually run in Cape Town or SA in general? Or what plans to rebuild? Originally Posted by: bph |

The South Africa power grid is also suffering.
