Hi,

Any suggestion on what red paint color I should use for M26928 tender wheels? Does Märklin sell the paint? If not, where should I go for the touch up paint?

Regards,

Sebastian

Automotive 150g spray touch up can. Spay drop into the lid, then apply with Winsor Newton series 7 paint brush.

You can also get 150g powder coat touch up cans.

Hi Sebastian,

With difficulty.
As an aside, I keep a stirring stick for every hobby colour I have (Humbrol, Tamiya, Testors etc).
Then I use the stick to find a best match.
I am often successful.

All the best, it is a nice set and worth maintaining.

Theoretically RAL 3000 "Feuerrot" is the correct colour. It is available from Revell and others.

As Tom advised the colour should be RAL 3000 fiery red but the manufacturers have slight variances to give a better appearances so a store paint is not going to be perfect.
I'd recommend Revell 32330 Fiery Red, satin RAL 3000. You want to use an enamel for the wheels and you can carefully brush it on without disassembly.

Hi All
Ritter in Germany list a number of paints for Marklin locos. The red version for Marklin wheels is a very good match.

Thanks. I could not find the link to Ritter paint guide. Could you share the link?

How do I use the powder coat? Or is it touch up for powder coated items?

It is exactly the same as automotive touch up paint, just building colours.

I have used thousands of cans over the years. Some red tones really do need mixing thoroughly, must be some of the pigments settle easily.

Hi All
The paints at Ritter in Germany are in their spare parts section, under colours.
Just search for Ritter Marklin in google.
When requartering wheels and the centre axle end gets slightly marked, touches up so well.
