I have managed to ruin both of my V60 units in attempt to resolder wires to reversing chip. I assume I need to install an ESU decoder to get at least one of them going again. However I do not trust my unsteady hands to put it all back together again. Any recommendations on someone who could do this work for me in the U.S. would be appreciated.

Are your Locos ac analog, or digital? Roco uses Zimo decoders today. How old are they? An electronic reverse unit can be replaced on an analog loco.

Analog, no decoder. Reversing unit sits in cab. Very delicate wires but excellent motors. Tension strip for tension on coupler is very difficult to work with when replacing.

I don't know of a repair shop in your area. You can try calling Helmuts hobbies in eastern Pa. he also lists labor charges on his website. He's been doing it for decades.
