Hello, I would like to buy a coach part from Märklin. It is the folding bellows, that allows passengers to negotiate between two coupled carriages. They are also called gangways, or vestibules. In most models this is made of plastic. On the Märklin cars for eras II and III, these parts pull off to allow the coach to be dismantled. I have searched the part extensively on the Märklin website and came up with nothing. I searched using all the terms and for individual cars, and car sets. An example is model # 43231. But all the search results show only wheels and couplers (if that!). Does anyone know the part number please? regards Kimball |

E490370 "Faltenbalg kurz" image: https://www.lokmuseum.de...Marklin_Faltenbalg_kurz#Various German dealers are having E490370 "Faltenbalg kurz" in stock. When looking for exotic spare parts (being shipped abroad), the Italian eBay vendor "coccodrillo114" was sometimes the last resort for me. Currently he is listing +3,000 Märklin spare parts, and bingo, he is offering a E490370 "Faltenbalg kurz": https://www.ebay.com/sch...p;_oac=1&_nkw=490370Anyway, shipping costs from Europe to Australia are exorbitantly higher than the item price. |

Hi Bernard and Ak Thanks for the great information. I have a regular dealer in Germany who will send this part along with other stuff at a suitable time.

Regards, Bernard That coach is listing two different diaphragms, the other one is E490390. Both part numbers come in packs of four.

Thank you Alan, I have ordered both parts. One is the short bellows for end of train (that is when retracted), and the other is the normal bellows. I also managed to find another short type for a three-axle car (set 43320) which is part number E12291600. So that will be different again. So in summary we can get: E490370 Faltenbalg kurz 4 St (4 piece pack) E490390 Faltenbalg lang schwarz 4 St (4 piece pack) E12291600 Faltenbalg kurz 2 St (2 piece pack) Strangely Bernard seemed to find the only model for which all the parts are indicated in the Parts Search. Similar cars Search that I did finds only wheels and couplers. Kimball |

Hi Kimball,
I used Google Images to see a picture and details of #43231.
Then using Märklin's "Product Database" I entered the details HO, Era III, Passenger Car. Then instead of going through each page of results I jumped a few pages at a time until I came to a page with similar passenger cars and Article numbers. Click on Details and then Downloads of the passenger car.
Regards, Bernard
