The primary question is how to remove the hex nut fastening the rod to the driver wheel on a steam locomotive (Minitrix BR 01) in order to change the tires? What is the size of the driver to remove the hexmut?

Hello, hope all is well.
I don’t know the size of this hex nut, but I was thinking, perhaps the Marklin 70900 tool set might have the correct tool for this. The set comes with 1 each 2.5 mm, 3.0 mm and 3.5 mm nut drivers.
Take good care.

Do you have a ref. number for the loco? Current Minitrix BR 01 have the traction tyres on the tender axles. |

Thank you for the replies. The model is a Minitrix BR 01 177 # 2900, which has tires on two of the driver wheels. Unfortunately the Marklin hex tools are too large.

The tool is a Nut Spinner or Micro Nut Spinner.
