Purchased a hobby laser (xTool D1) several months ago to help with my layout build. Have made several things for the layout.
Recently completed a goods shed for the industrial area. Used some 2.2mm plywood and other thin wood stock I had collected. Enjoyed designing and then building the model. Learned from the experience and next one will be a tad better but still pleased with the result.

Here are some photos of the completed building and a rock wall behind it that I also used the laser.

Well done, and that wall looks stunning. Well done. ThumpUp ThumpUp ThumpUp

Laser cutting for modelling seems to be gaining traction. One of the guys at my local club has been doing laser cutting for quite some time and has produced some stunning results, one of which is a 2 foot (approx) building for an O gauge layout which is based on a building on the Isle of Wight. It is a brick built building in an Art Nouveau style, and the model is laser engraved with all the bricks. The corners are all dovetailed bricks for which he has had to make adjustments for the laser cutting width so they dovetail properly. I think he used 1/8" mdf. It is a stunning building.
