Today it was my first visit abroad since a long time. I visited Aachen and I discovered a really beautiful and large modeltrainshop in the citycenter. On the streetside there are 3 shopping windows, full with trains and cars. Inside you will find everything from little to large trains, and all kind of things for your model layout. There is plenty of staff aroud the shop, helping you gently.

Of course wink.

Busch box N8020, with mountain parts.
Märklin 24611 left hand switch.
Märklin 24224, 24188 (3x), 24172 (3x) and 24977.
In this way I can set my goods train aside.
And a second hand Märklin car, which I hope to clean up next week.

After that I run very fast out of the shop, before no money was left biggrin !

Dear Zora

I live in the Netherlands and often use the shop in Aachen . It is really excellent shop with a great deal of model train stock Marklin and many other brands and guages . The staff are helpful, knowledgeable and speak many languages.

The only draw back is that as far as I can tell , there is no website !!

PS it is not the only train shop in Aarchen. There is a smaller one just about 500M from the Dom!!

I also visited this shop in Aachen several times. A lot of stuff there and very well organized and presented. But prices seems to be a little bit higher than shops in Belgium. Is this true ?

Pierre.

The items bought in Aachen. The car was secondhand, and I cleaned it last week.
They have also a large secondhand collection, for that you need to walk deeper in the store.
Look also at the end of the model car department, there you will find tunnels, trees and other things to make a landscape.

Hunerbein, the shop metioned I think is not cheaper than the 'cheap' shop in Belgium. However at a walking distance away there is the Stute shop in the Alexanderstrasse, which is (of was, a long time i've been there) really cheaper and worth to go to. They have less stock however. It's real small shop stuffed to the ceiling with boxes. A few years ago they celebrated their 50 years of being open (by the same owners!)

Problem with the carpet though...wrong colour...any chance of spraying a small corner green...then with some scatter your tress etc would look really great.

David

PS Zora better ask first !!!!!

Thanks Bert. I remember that shop as well. Unfortunately, I never bought any Märklin item there due to their much limited inventory than Hunerbein as you have mentioned. However, I think that I have bought Revell aircraft models there ...

Pierre.
