Good afternoon all,

In a assortment of parts I recently bought of an estate I found a sound chip that reads: "602359 -II".
Not much information to be found on the web about this besides a couple of pic's on the "HGH's Homepage"

Anyone here familiar with this sound chip?
In what lok was it used?
Could it be used / rewired for another lok?

Regards

Jean-Pierre

I did an internet search and found that it is the decoder for a locomotive with product number 37661. See item 47 in the attached diagram from the Marklin website:

Unfortunately, I can't help with any further information. Cheers,

Harold.

Hmm, not exactly a 'sound chip' ... the Marklin database page for 37661 has this description ...

2 axles powered. 4 traction tires. Electronic reverse unit. Engine room with interior details. Length over buffers 19.8 cm / 7-13/16*. With digital decoder and controlled high-efficiency propulsion. Built-in sound effects for an air horn. Headlights digitally controlled. The air horn can be turned on with the 6021 Control Unit. The headlights will work in conventional operation.

So the only sound effect is an air horn. As the loco came out in 2000-2002 that is about all I would expect.

Nice loco though.
