Thanks for the heads up Alan. Would this be live streamed via YouTube by any chance?
Best

Don't know, if it is I would guess it would be by RhB, and that would be what would be shown at the Marklineum.

Just had another email from marklin with a heap of bits, but it includes a link to a live stream for this event. It looks like they will live stream it via the LGB web site.

[edit]
More correctly that page has a link to the live stream source.

Also go to the bottom of the page and there is a PDF flyer for the attempt, which includes a map of the route.

The Rhätische Bahn (Rhaetian Railway) will be running a long consist to attempt to set a record for the longest passenger train in the world.
This will be occurring on Saturday, October 29th. For those in North America, this will happen very early in the morning.
There should be coverage on the internet.

Regards

Mike C

There is already a thread about this - including links to the live video feed.
The thread has been there for several days, and I updated it today, so it is not far down the recent posts.
Does nobody read other postings?

Alan,

your post was titled Live Stream at Marklineum. My post was specifically about the RhB world record attempt and it was posted in the prototype thread as it was not about News from Maerklin.
I thank you for providing additional information which may have helped people find the event online, which I did not have on hand when I posted my info.

Regards

Mike C

You missed out a bit, I included "longest train" in the title, which pretty much covered it. about the only bit I missed out was 'RhB'

Made the news on at least one UK newspaper.

Also includes a spot of video as well as a number of pictures taken along the route.

Marklin has released a br 185 in red, commemorating this, with the Landwasser viaduct mural. Item 36647. Extensive sound functions, i.e. greeting, swiss station ann., grade crossing, train radio, main relay, heating equipment, and 3 more, in addition to the light funtions AA, etc.
Shows as in stick on Marklin.de, so shops should be getting it soon.
