Hi

At a local toy fair today, I found this lurking in a none Marklin box.
It as bought as seen and when tested at home, it is a none runner.
This will mean a complete strip down and rebuild.

Looking at my Kolls it appears to be a version between 1950 and 1955.

Examine carefully before you take it to bits. These can be very tricky to fix!

Wonderful loco, though.

Best wishes,

Thank you Alan and Nigel

I'm sure the CCS 800 is quite tricky. There seems to be an awful lot of gears and things lurking under the body. I foresee a full photographic record as I prepare and then take off every piece.
It will join the queue at the moment with the 3027 first in line, followed by the CCS800 and then the Fleishmann Class 50, that you see behind the Croc.

Hi Mike
I have a 3015 (1957 I believe) and it is not THAT tricky unless:
- you unscrew the motor (holding the 2 half parts) In the huge majority of cases DON'T
- you unscrew the cardan link between the central part and the side part of the loco. There is a relatively precise adjustment to be made to avoid the loco sneaking like ... a crocodile).

A few things to check
- sliders (some people remove them before selling
- the slider/pantograph inverter
- the brushes (difficult to find, slightly larger than "normal old-style Märklin Brushes) are E600350 still available at Märklin for 6€

Here is the exploded view diagram

Part of this user's manual may help you to service the loco

I hope this helps
I love this loco very much
Cheers
Jean
