Hi all,

I’m in Florence, Italy for a few days with work - still strange to be travelling after two and a half years locked down. Aside from the mandatory Ufizzi and Galleria dell'Accademia, I also visited the new HZERO museum, whose main attraction is the 3 rail layout that has been discussed here before.

The new home of the layout is very nicely done, with stylised video projections on the walls and a day/night lighting sequence. There were plenty of trains running, and the layout is large and detailed. It is a mashup of Italy and Germany across multiple eras, which I don’t mind but purists will find offensive. There also a little cinema with a video playing about the origin of the layout and the formidable feat of moving it to its current location.

I’m posting this from an iPad, which because of a forum bug means all the photos will be upside down. Even if I edit them to be upside down on the iPad they still stay upside down on the forum - weird. Maybe someone with a computer can edit them right way up and reply here with them. Otherwise just hold your computer upside down when you look at the following …
