Hi,
I like to show my Hoffmann Austria 1/30 Der kleine Städtebauer box. ("The little town-planner").
The box has some minor wear on the outside

, and is not complete.
The box was cheap (€ 25,-), so I figured why not, Hoffmann models are pretty rare and it's still a very nice set to have.
1/30 was in the Hoffmann program from 1959 to 1962, maybe in 1963 too.
I don't have the 1963 catalog, and I don't even know if such 1963 catalog exists.(Hoffmann was taken over by Faller in 1963).
As far as I known the box should have had; 1 church, 8 houses, 1 petrol station, 1 kiosk, 12 fences, 8 trees, 6 traffic signs and 4 cars.
But my box contains 2 churches, 12 houses, 8 trees, 12 fences and 2 cars, so the petrol station and kiosk are missing as well as 2 cars and the roadsigns..
The items are in very good condition (clean, no (glue)marks, no broken parts ...).
Hoffmann models are known for their sometimes unusual colors, these houses are no exception (!).
Although Hoffmann made many models and items for model railroads, the 1/30 Der kleine Stadtebauer’ was meant as an in- and outdoor toy, and was not necessarily intended as a mrr accessory. The houses seems to be slightly smaller than H0 too, 1:100 or something like that.
These houses were probably assembled by austrian homeworkers in and around Braunau am Inn.
Not sure yet, but 2 or 3 maybe might get a nice spot on my new nostalgia layout, these funny colored houses sure will look nice with some AMS running past them, and possible even more so with some Merten figures and added flowers in the windows.
(The last 2 pictures are from the 1961 Hoffmann catalog).
Marco
