Hi,
I've completed the integration of my turntable with Rocrail. Its main characteristics are:
  1. Must keep track of the bridge position.
  2. The layout display (track plan) must show the bridge position, at least at the end of each movement.
  3. The bridge must always travel the shortest distance. This implies:
    a. When the bridge is empty, the angular movement must be less than a quarter turn.
    b. When the bridge is occupied the angular movement must be, at most, half turn.
  4. As a consequence of the previous requirement, the loco should enter and leave the bridge through both sides.
  5. Drag and Drop, Routes and Schedules could be used to control movements across the turntable.
  6. The roundhouse doors must open or close as needed by the loco movements. The normal state is doors closed.

I'm building the 72886 roundhouse, but I'm strugling with integrating Servos. The documentation from Märklin is very poor. Could You show some pictures of how You have solved this?

Hi Henning,

Thank you for your interest in my assembly of the servo motors on the Märklin 72886 roundhouse.

I was very surprised when I discovered that the 72886 did not include the parts necessary for the integration of my servos, so I had to improvise a solution. Page 14 of the instructions shows an assembly that is not suitable for my servos (Digikeijs DR 60030).

I do not have time-lapse photos of my build; I only have photos of the finished assembly. I hope they are enough to show how I did it.

For the assembly I used the leftover material. Perhaps the most curious piece is the toothpick I used to attack the sliding piece that opens and closes the doors.

I have kept the pencil drawings I used for my assembly, I attach a photo.

I hope I have helped you,

Rafael

Thank You very much for the illustrations. They are very helpfull. From those illustrations it should be easy to construct my own setup.

Digikeijs is no longer a solution, as they are out of buissenes, and their succeder Yamorec has no reperesentation in Denmark. So i will get some servos at my electronic dealer, and i will build an Ardouino based DCC controller.

Thanks for the great help

Henning
