These Italians certainly know how to make a nice model railway, as well as excellent photos and videos!
Alberto, your videos are stunning!
Pietro, that's a nice loco. Is it 2 rail or 3 rail?

Thank you Ray! It is 3 rails from Roco (#68559). It is a multi system loco of an italian private company (RTC), and pulls freight trains in Germany, Austria and Italy (of course). Its official price is 130 euros, and this makes it a very interesting model!! Pietro

Pietro, I haven't really done much testing with it. It ran a few laps on the testtrack at my dealer and then went straight into my display case (I have no permanent layout right now). I suspect it has a lokpilot decoder and it ran pretty smooth on the testtrack. I'm at work right now, I'll see what I can find out when I et back home. |

Thank you but don't worry! If you don't run your trains I will look for these informations somewhere else! Thank you anyway!

The artwork on the side (a class 05) is the same as on the manual of the insider loko. I downloaded the manual from the märklin servicepage. Then imported it with coraldraw to cut and adjust the drawing. Also lettering and logo (self made) were added. Printing is indeed done with an ALPS printer. The black 120 was originally a Teun Hocks (33532) with plastic body. The blue one a metal trix 120.0 Bart |

Nice, Alberto! New pantograph can change very much the look of an old loco! Which kind of pantographs did you choose? Are these Sommerfeldt? Pietro

Hi Alberto. Great photos as usual.
Pietro's right. The new pantos make the loco look completely different. If you had said it was a new loco I would have believed you! |

I believe that many Marklin pantograph are Sommerfeldt sold with Marklin brand. But I'm not sure. I bought two sommerfeldt #741 (model DBS54) for my 3039. These are not much different from Marklin ones and maybe from yours: Pietro

Here's my latest - a 3324? NS 1100 class. It came unboxed so I'm not sure of the reference number. It will eventually get a decoder - possibly a 60760 kit if the permanent magnet will fit in the available space (the original coil looks a tight fit). Alberto, I fitted new blackened pantographs to my 3042 a while ago, it really doesn't look anything like as old as it is now. Just want to add close couplers to finish the update. Snag is, a box of couplers is about the same price as a coach, so guess which I tend to spend the budget on... |

Hi Matt,
Nice loco! I think it is a 3324 as you suggest. The blue/yellow one is the 3327. |

Thanks Ray, I've just been replacing a missing traction tyre and touching in a bit of missing paint on the roof. I found that a spare Hornby tyre I had was a perfect fit after I shaved a little off the width, which saves me spending another £8 or so on a pack of Marklin ones! |

Thank you Bart! Your lokomotion is amazing! I have ever liked this livery and was dreaming about a 139 (starting from a 3039 as in my other pic). I am involved in another project at the moment, but don't put the files in the trash, maybe you'll find a customer for the decals in the future Pietro

Steven, I did indeed! That was the last of their Marklin locos, although I'll be checking back. Their prices are very fair when compared to the going rate on ebay.
