I have a passenger car 4027 with 2 red lights. The wiring is in the compartment near the end of the car but the lights don’t light up when I give the track power. Do I still need to add parts to the under carriage to draw current from the track?

Does your car have a pickup shoe?
If not you need a 7198.
if yes , check your wiring

No, it does not. I will purchase a 7198 pickup shoe.
