Congratulations, Thomas - what a black beauty [:p] !!!

Got the old analog #3089 from 1982. Run her with coaches the older the better ...

Hi Thomas. I have this model which I also picked up as a bargain. One thing though it is very noisy. The metal body acts like a bell and the motor vibrates inside. I think someone suggersted packing the metal shell with foam.
How do you find your model.
Regarding coaches I think the M set 43258 would look good.

David
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

Hi,
Is it possible to add a smoke generator, with minor modifications?

Hi all

Thank you for the very good recommandations. It is true that the lok is rather noisy and I might end up trying to do something to reduce the level. For now I am just very happy with the new train wink

I have heard that there is no room for a smoke generator but would very much like to hear if anyone have succeeded in fitting one to the lok.

maybe the liliput #352010 USTC (occupied zone) skirted coach set would be appropriate? I got that set from 48VW on ebay - it was on clearance sale for a pretty good price. But there are only two coaches in the set. Obviously would need or want a few more coaches for a set.

This loco has 2 light bulbs at the front (one for the high beam). You'd have to remove the second light bulb to make space for the smoke generator.
Maybe there is space for smoke generator and light if you switch to LEDs ...
I'll keep mine as it is.

Maybe I'll try to silence her (but haven't tried that yet).
Regards
Tom

Is the chimney hole big enough for smoke generator?

There is no chimney hole. The drill is part of the thrill ...
