I still have problems with the final conneting of my layout. This time all decorders works splended. Programmed correctly. However when I try to connect the final loop the same trouble occures. That means the only turner working is Number three. All others are dead.
From the attached pictures you can see the final connection disconnected. I started with only the tracs with the C tracks. Working well. Extended the layout as advised in sections. Sections on the right works perfect and the outer track too. (Upper level). As soon as all tracks are connected (see that open connection) then the turners goes bananas again not working apart from number three. I have found two capacitors under two straight M-tracks.
I shall take my voltmeter and check for connections on the upper, inner circle.
Any ideas folks?

Hi Gunnar
From what you describe: all your digital locos are programmed OK and responding on part of the layout.
When adding extensions to your layout, it does not work any more.

If my understanding in correct, then you need to search which track piece is causing the problem.

So instead of connecting all the rest of tracks in one go, you insert half of it and test.
If the problem appears, disconnect half of the added track pieces, test,...
If there is still no problem add half of the remaining tracks and test, ...
Doing that way you will find the faulty track.
What can it be: one possible issue is a remaining RF noise suppressor (capacitor) which is not to be used in digital.
Cheers
Jean

Cool

Have you tried running locomotives on the part of the layout that causes troubles?

It could be a capacitor you haven't found yet; but it could also be a short circuit.

Dividing like Jean suggests is the best I can think of.

Thanks friends for your advice. I did run the trains on the outer track and reversed them to the parking area to the right. Maybe you are correct and I will again check for a surpressor lnside the turners. Lifting off the bottom cover and check over.

I will keep you informed but may not have time today meaning over the New Years Eve.

Keep up your good work all of you.

Gunnar
