Question CS3 and Intellibox

I fully converted my m track system to digital.
Recently i got a CS3+ to control the system, replacing 6021s and Uhlenbrock Intellibox.
Can I use the Intellibox as a booster for the CS3? How? I like the additional 2 control wheels and a little more power to run multiple trains with lighted carriages (some LED, some old style).

Ben, I'd ask R.Phill, also from Ann Arbor. He's rather knowledgable with the CS3, etc. He might even help you test it out.
I'm out in Macomb county, but have cousins in A2.
I'm keping my 6021 for programming, or a Holiday/Christams tree oval. One member told me M track wasn't the best for newer digital equipment. Glad you aren't having any problems wit it.
I had C track unused from it's early introduction, after M track was discontinued. I still have quite a bit of it, and used some for a yard siding, and one turnout, but I got the 29000 MS2 set before my CS+, so the rest is all C track.

Thx for the feedback. I cannot find a member with that name, but would like to connect. Marklin 3-track seems relatively uncommon in SE Michigan.
I like the old (1960/70s) metal stock and track, so converted old engines (5p motor, lights and decoder) and added 10 k83 units to operate switches and signals; I use several hundred pieces of m-track. Usual early problems with electrical shorts, some failing coils and route track, but now everything works well. Besides upgraded parts, removing current blocks from analog signals significantly improved the track power distribution.

Can you use your Intellibox as a booster to a CS3?
I have serious doubts that this is feasible without making new cables and maybe some electronic surgery.

Another possibility is to use a 100 W , 19 VDC power supply to feed the CS3 (I use a Märklin 60101 for a 230V mains)
My layout includes 32 locos and many illuminated cars (all powered simultaneously) for a total of 2.9 to 3.3 A (maximum is 5A)
So with modern sound locos and LED lighting even more locos are possible. One restriction: do not use the smoke unit on all locos

Yes, cable connection is the first challenge and then adequate communication may still not work. I assumed that 5A may to not be enough, but have not tested that with 6+ trains, many lighted carriages, old M switches and signals. My equipment is old gear with digital conversions; I have a few carriages with LEDs. Will report back after I connect the lower and upper layouts that are currently with separate controls (CS3+ and Intellibox).

maybe not direct off the cs3, but isn't there a device like the terminal to connect 6015/7 boosters? I have a feeling it is called a 'Connect 6017'.

The main problem is the Intellibox would have to be at software revision 2 so the IB can be turned into a slave device, and then a conversion from the single ended 6017 drive signal to the differential loconet drive signal would be required. I also do not know if the IB has isolation of the booster portion, I suspect not.
