Last one from me today. Over the last few weekends I've been setting the track out on the deck outside and the big trains have escaped outside to stretch their legs.

I've found the ex-Huebner track by Marklin (including 59073 and 59076 curves) much more reliable in terms of current conductivity in terms of the old Marklin track. Plus, the large (1,394mm/1,550mm) radii allow me to run the trains with prototype couplers.

The KPEV T3 from the 5501 has been retrofitted with a sound decoder and is an oldie but a goodie.

The 55910 KPEV T9.3 is a recent secondhand acquisition and is a real gem - although it dates to 1998 and is now over 22 years old it runs smoothly, is all metal and looks like the real thing, and has better sound than some later locomotives like the Br 44.

One day the 1 gauge layout will be inside and all-weather, but this is keeping me out of trouble for now!
