Good morning fellow Marklin enthusiasts.
I am looking for your assistance. I just bought an unused Marklin 3124 Michelin railcar. Unfortunately for me the complete slider is missing from it. According to the owner's manual the slider should be a complete unit that clips onto the bogie (part no 7145). I have slider no 7145 in my spares but it does not have a clip that will hold it to the bogie. Does anyone know where I could get a parts list for 3124. I have checked the Marklin website and 3124 is not listed in the downloads section.
The body of the railcar is cracked. Can anyoune recommend a glue that would be suitable for use on plastic of this vintage.
Looking forward to your replies.
John

Hi John I have this Micheline railcar and indeed the slider is specific is not available in Märklinshop anymore The slider specific part has to do with the plastic clips to hold it in place Sorry this picture is lousy. If interested I will make a better one. If you still have the old one, you may transfer a same-size slider from a brand new one (I think the one for passenger cars lighting will do. If you dont, then you will have a to adapt a threaded hole to fix a standard slider Note: usually, the slider pressure is often too high thus lower the wheel pressure on rails Concerning the body, I would recommend to open the Micheline, put the brocken parts together and then add a tiny part of instant glue (Cyanoacrylate) Here is the open body of my 3624 when I installed an MFX decoder with LED lighting and front light Here is the result of the change I love this car but it is very light and sensitive to current picking issues Cheers Jean |

John No, that part number is incorrect. I have the correct part number somewhere, i'll try and look it out later today.

There does not seem to be a parts diagram issued for the 3124. I have access to a factory set of diagrams and there is nothing for 3124.The only one near this is the 3125 Michelin bus and the pick up is part 7164.

Hi John/All, The stated part number in the manual is 7175 but on the Marklin spare parts database the graphic of the collector shoe isn't correct. The collector shoe for the 49950 Goliath crane will fit and has the part number E201495 and this is available on the Marklin spares database. The collector shoe for the 3423 Wismar bus will fit and has the old part number 48898 but a digit is missing and can't be found on the Marklin spares database. Michelin Bus LokPilot UpgradeSee pages 2-3 showing problems with the collector shoe. Adding Front and Rear LED Lights to the Michelin BusLinks corrected 31-12-2024 Nice front and rear LED light upgrade for those that want to go down that path. Hope the info. is helpful. Thank you JohnjeanB, KiwiAlan, Bryan and Ross for responding to my query.
You are correct Ross. Since posting my query I found in the box a separate leaflet advising that part 7175 should be used instead of 7145. A search online finds the slider only without the clip.
The slider from the Goliath crane will do the job perfectly. I have ordered it already.
Ross, your lokpilot upgrade and light conversions are inspiring and will guide me when I get to taking on the job after I have completed some outstanding repairs and conversions on other loks etc.
Thanks you all again for your help/advice.
