Hello everyone. Just wanted to ask if anyone has had any experience running Narrow Gauge N scale (NN3) on z scale track like Marklin or Rokuhan. I'm interested in your sharing and experience. I know it's narrow gauge and N scale but I'm curious about other things: - Did you continue using Marklin / other z scale transformer - Did you switch your "whole layout" to N scale or just mixed it with z scale? - What type of NN3 equipment did you use and particularly what couplers - Why DID you run NN3?
I'm asking because I've been looking at potentially doing a logging railroad scene and there are some nice N scale narrow gauge Shays. I'm wondering if I could just "bluff it" and keep everything else z scale or it's just too much bigger. I figure it's worth a try since I have z scale track in any case.
Thanks

There is an amazing group over at groups.io on Nn3 (and it’s associated worldly sizes). https://groups.io/g/Nn3Also check Republic Locomotive Works here: https://www.republiclocomotiveworks.com/The Nn3 handbook has been out a long while but it is fantastic. Tom Knapp (a NMRA master model railroader #101) has a years long series running in one of the USA N Scale magazines (the one still printing hard copies). He and several others (Joe D) do extraordinary work. Edit: (I would really suggest joining the groups.io list. It’s full of amazing Nn3 talent from around the world.)
