I have found the culprit that snaps off all my C-Track turnout Lanterns. It is none other that one of my favourite locos. I have two of these namely E19.12 & BR118 034-8. My R1 & 3 way points get clobbered if the aforementioned locos use them:

I am sure some of you have suffered the same fate as me. It would be interesting to know what locos / Carriages / wagons you own that cause this unnecessary damage due to Marklin's unfortunate lack of foresight.

Hi Dave
I have a BR E19 (3769 of 1994) and a E18 (from set 26509 in DR livery delivered in 2000)
On the 3769 I had to remove the Indusi receiver as it was creating too many issues. Remember the loco moves a lot sideways.
The issues were not limited to lantern bumping on C track but also colliding with elevated studs on slip switches.

Yes it is a bit savage but it does not show and the operation of the loco is much better
Cheers

I cut the indusi off on mine (3769) already years ago. (there must be a topic on it!) Also had to do the same with an E18.

Newer E19s have updated skirts, with the indusi magnets placed more inwards. So if you want a 'correct' loco you can probably order the newer skirts as spare parts.

hi
I must correct myself: the BR E18 40 (DDR) I have, was only filed a little bit (no need to remove it)
Here it is

This one is in regular operation without giving the slightest problem with the Indusi in place (bottom, center of the loco)

Many thanks for all the input. I will start with Jean's suggestion & file them down to clear the lanterns. Last resort I will get new modified side skirts. My "Doppelstok" as in below picture also don't like the turnout lanterns & because of their length connect & scrape right over the top of the lanterns:

Some do complain the C turnout lanterns are quite delicate and break easy. I havn't ordered any yet. I have 4 M track (2 straight, 2 curved) turnouts in perfet shape from M expansion sets, and as you know, they were equiped with lanterns standard. I didn't incorporate them into my new layout because M track isn't optimal for mfx, and I would have had to get more M to C transiton tracks. I did use some M track in a yard spur, and on one truss bridge from my original 2916 start set to add a classic Marklin touch.
I have a large analog trafo, a 6021, and can use the M track around a Christams tree, or set the grand kids up with a start if they are ever inclined.

I’ve had problems with the e118/br118 too. Mine hit the k track contact track boxes. Very frustrating.

Jean is it possible to post a close up picture for us all to see what you have done "filing wise" to combat this issue of snapping C-Track lanterns off with the Indusi receiver with regards to your E18 & E19. It would be most appreciated.
Thanks Dave...
