As MSL is out of stock for a coach set I am after was going to order from BWBahn. Anybody dealt with them and are they OK. Their website is not quite user friendly or as what I am used to I suppose. Look fine but thought I would get any opinion s on their service. Many thanks

Go for it!
BWBahn is one of if not the largest Marklin dealer in Germany. They are good to deal with. If the website is too much you can email them directly, but I'm writing this on the train at the moment so don't have the address to hand.
Beware that they do send out a weekly email with discounted specials and a few folks here have commented about that resulting in unforeseen purchases being made...

I have ordered from them a half dozen times in the last 5 years. Good to deal with and no problems.

I have bought from them a few times from both their eBay shop and directly. I have always been happy with their service. I was also pleasantly surprised when he made a VAT adjustment on the eBay purchase by adjusting the S&H costs. I have found no other eBay seller doing that.

Thanks guys. Will send off an order. I have signed up for emails so probably more parcels will be collected from the delivery chap and smuggled in past those who have no idea just what a loco or coach set costs. |

I have had a number of eBay sellers adjust the total to remove the VAT. eBay now tries to get you to pay at checkout, but if you request an invoice, you can ask for the MWSt (VAT) to be removed for export. Some send an adjusted total and others deduct the VAT from the shipping cost.

My former dealer always gave me a 15 to 20% discount off msrp list price. She told me the markup over their cost was 40%. They also gave me a beer or a freight car on each birthday.

I have purchased Märklin items from BWBahn on a number of occasions and have been very happy with their service. When they have things on special, like the weekly specials in the Friday emails the prices can be quite good. |
Regards,
Jim
I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
So many trains and so little time. |
