Hi, I'm just wondering what digital decoder number this dance car has, there is an 8 numbered piano switch which I've set on 4 which relates to number 77 but it doesn't respond to it., I've tried every number under the sun (1-80) and it doesn't make any difference, the good thing is the music, loights and people dance but I can't turn it off., not that I want to but it comes on when ever it likes., the mode is on M14 motorola
any thoughts ?

Hello, I have read about problems controling this car and the 4999 panoramic one with CS2. Fisrt this is a decoder that works with Motorola 1 protocol, MM2 is an extended version of MM1 format. The protocol has been somewhat rearranged so that, among other things, a direction bit can be sent with it and the four functions became possible.Your dance car should just run on MM2. What is important is the polarity of the rail! So red on the middle rail and brown on the bed (rail bars) review that, I have had problems in the past due this with older decoders with Motorola1.
I think the fatory default for this car is 20 but of course you can change it to ant number in the range of 1-80

John This car does not use a loco address, it uses an accessory address that is in a different address space to points and signals. If using a 6021 then press the key to the right of the 0 key, and then enter the address. You should now be able to use the function keys to access it.

I'll try it again today and use the FX motorola mode and see what happens.

Thank you all for your help, I've figured it out how to activate it with my ECoS, its a motorola FX decoder and the number I've chosen is 77 and it works fine., it was registered before with my ECoS but under a loco's name: DB BR 103 Lufthansa, hence I didn't recognize the fx and decoder number., I also originally thought it was number 6 and not number 4 on the decoder (read it front to back)

AIUI it uses a loco address, but in a special FX mode. The four bits that usually carry the speed are used for F1 through F4 in this special mode. It is on by default and simply entering the address without doing anything special does the trick. In default mode, the 6021 sends F1 through F4 in both MM1 and MM2 modes. |

I'm sure I've operated it with the MS 1 but this was years ago and my correct memory may lacks on facts John |
