Hi

I see Dwight's just posted on another thread with the comment 'not much going on now'.
I'm inclined to agree. It's my only reservation with choosing Z scale - that the community is a little scarce.

Anyway - for anyone that's interested here's 4 images of how the project has progressed to date:
Lots of detail to add and I'm full of YouTube inspired ideas.

Hi.

Sweet, nice progress. I have to admit YouTube is full of good ideas for our z scale hobby.

You have nice details and an interesting and action packed track. I like it a lot! Where did you get that great track plan diagram. When you’re finished you can frame it and put it on the wall.

Do you have some issues with the hills, they really look reasonable.

Take good care.

The main framework of the track is based upon Marklin sets.
I used the track elements of the starter pack, added the extension pack, station pack and double track pack.
I then changed the sidings around a bit and added a sort of connected figure of 8 for some central interest with a bridge.
Basically I purchased all of the Marklin Z track sets plus extra.
The scheme was laid out using RailModeller Pro. Quite a nice simple Mac based design program.
I also purchased the two Marklin Catenary sets. Fitting these is this weekends project.

There's a long way to go on the landscaping.
The grass currently looks like that ready made 'carpet' you can purchase.
It's actually a WS ground cover with 2mm and 4mm static but I'm still learning.
I'll be added further static plus brushing in some static flowers.

The rock work needs completely re-painting.
The electrics need much better housing.
I have a fair amount of lighting on its way plus some Vreissmann switches.
Lots and lots of ideas for details to add. You can see I've started on a fuelling area.
And there is a mega-session of ballasting required.

So I've plenty to do. But thoroughly enjoying myself.

@Poor Skeleton
I've been looking at the catenary for about an hour and a notification of your post came in.
It's trickier than I thought and the documentation is fairly basic.
I'm off searching for help. This is where Z fails a little as there's not so much info. to find.
