Today I purchased an old Märklin set and amongst the items was a Liliput tank loco:

It is very heavy, die cast. The only marking I can see is the word 'Liliput' on the connecting rods.
The spokes are printed onto solid wheels.

It does not seem to be on https://www.modelrailroadcollector.wiki/ and I cant find any similar images online nor a Liliput collectors site....

Most of the other items seem to be from the late 1940's and 1950's.

It also included some Liliput 3 rail track.

I am wondering when it was sold and potential value too as I may be willing to sell it as I limit myself to Märklin.

Dale,

I asked my friend in Austria (home of Liliput) to do a bit of research into the possible origins of your locomotive. I quote his response verbatim below as well as posting some additional photos from the auction (which is time sensitive and will go offline as soon as the bidding ends). If this is indeed your locomotive it has a very curious gearing mechanism.
I hope this information helps with the identification of this model. If my friend discovers any more information about the locomotive I'll post it here in the thread.

Kurt

I found some infos during a quick internet search (unfortunately german language sites only):

loco could be Liliput #111, which was produced around 1949/50:
a) a small private museum focused on austrian modelrailroad producers shows an old Liliput train and there I also found another picture:

it´s the front page of a broschure, text under the pic says "Urform der Liliput Lok 111", which means prototype of Liliput 111 loco

b) a chat on a german forum talking about the loco, showing some pictures as well

c) an austrian collector is currently selling one on an online auction (some kind of local austrian ebay, called "willhaben")

The slider looks more like a Märklin-one, fitted at a later moment...
