I have three Marklin 37294 locomotives with faulty MTC boards as the lights do not function correctly and the motors run erratically. They are outside the warranty period so I don't think I could get them replaced at no charge from Marklin. I wondered if it was possible to replace the Marklin MTD board with an ESU mother board.
Hoping someone is able to give me a clue as to weather this is practicable
Thanks
Regards
Russell

Russel, ESU doesn't have individual mother boards, they produce their own mother boards for their own produced locos., if you like to exchange the Märklin electronics to ESU you have to remove all of the Märklin stuff and replace it by an ESU Adapter plate, decoder and if it has sound a loudspeaker.
Russel it is always advisable to show pictures of your loco (s) so we can determinate what is the reason or what is the best way to resolve this issue you're having,
It has been noticed in the past, when members have problems with their loco its not always the reason why a loco doesn't run or lights don't work properly.
