Electrical wire cross sectional surface for a decoer

Hi
I have to add a wire on a Märklin 60944 decoder and want to use the same wire as the other precabled ones.
This is for cabling a rear bulb.
I wonder what is the diameter and the cross sectional area for these kind of wire?
0,05 mm², 0,10 mm², 0,14 mm² ?
I currently do not have the decoder on my hand, so I can not check it.
Would appreciate the help :)

I have a stock of Brawa 0.05mm^2 for doing decoder wiring. The packs I have come in 10m lengths. catalogue # 32408 black 32404 brown 32402 red 32406 orange 32401 yellow 32403 green 32405 blue 32407 grey 32409 white For some reason I don't seem to have, or have mislaid, violet. I also have 0.14mm^2 wire, and it is definitely way too thick. The 0.05mm wire is rated for 0.5A, so should be plenty heavy enough for any load within a loco.

The Brawa decoder wire is lovely to use : it is quite thin, soft and the many copper filaments readily take solder. I have been using ESU wires for my decoder projects. They appear similar gauge to Marklin wires. Agree - sometimes the space is very tight and you want thin and flexible wires you can bundle together to make sure they don't get caught or squeezed when you put the loco body on. Hello Dale Just want to fit exactly in the Märklin specification. I know that a 0.05 mm² could handle a single bulb. and since I have to purchase wires anyways, I want them to be able to fit any use Märklin decoder could support (including telex, motor, etc.) Stéphane

I suspect that ESU, Marklin, and a lot of other European decoder manufacturers get their wire from Brawa (actually Braun) who make their own wire. I know they do this as I had a tour of the wire factory some years ago. The specification that each decoder manufacturer uses may be slightly different (actual wire gauge, number of strands, insulation thickness, etc) but they are all very similar.

On its site, Tams (another decoder manufacturer) has an additional offer of 0,10 mm² wires that Brawa does not have https://tams-online.de/e...Hochflexible_Litzen_LifYTams limit the 0,05 mm² wire to up to 800 mA, while 0,10 mm² is between 800 and 1200 mA for motor (both are convenient for other function usage). I am not so used to permanant magnet motor, but 800 mA for a motor seems not huge. The Märklin decoder allows for up to 1.1 A motor, which is higher the the 0.05 mm² supports. Just to be sure, and given the fact that wire specification may be different, could one give me the diameter ot the wire of a Märklin decoder ? According to the threat, it seems that they are very similar to 0,05 mm² (ie 0,7 mm in diameter), but just to confirm. MAny thanks to all for he help !
