2020 was a rough year for most of us so what would you like to see Märklin shall make in upcoming 2021/22 season?
We don't want to make any hasty decisions ‘cause Märklin is listening. Right ... so here is my list:

-BBÖ Golsdorf Class 310 w/ Faulhaber Motor Sound and Smoke ( Metal ‘cause Roco is to plastic-ky and that ugly Cardan-shaft )
- Dampftriebwagen Kittel in Swiss Livery
- Glaskasten ( Br 98 ) with 5 (2 axle ) Swiss short local wagons
- K.P.E.V. Glaskasten ( BR 98 )
- NYC Central Wagons Set & Commodore Vanderbilt Streamlined Locomotive
- K.P.E.V. P 4 Steam Locomotive with Sound
My Best,
Märklineisenbahn

I still wish for some new fancy models:

Sweden

X2000 7-part unit with tilting mechanism in the cars and digital pantographs. There are alot of combinations like the Chinese version. The first version should be an €1000 limited to 2000 units (X2000) in the original blue/black/ metal version.

RC-locos. Retooled in metal, 1:87 length with matching cars (from the 90's) with red rear light.

Swedish Sleeping cars!!!

Germany

ICE2 14-part unit with add-on set with motor. The old "real" ICE2 needs to have a new version that can pull as many cars as in reality (more motors?)

USA
A new diesel would be awesome!

More Streamliner cars that could match older F7/GG-1 locos released earlier.

GG-1 in AMTRAK colors and matching cars.

I agree with you to some point but calling the cardan shaft ugly is a bit over the top you can't hardly see it, plastic-ky ? can you tell the difference ?

What I'm not happy with Roco steam locos is the lack of power because of the powered driving wheels are in the tender, the Cardan shaft is purely there to keep the main wheels moving with the same speed the loco is running, what I would like to see 2 of the large wheels having rubber tyres but yes I would like to see the loco as well being produced from Märklin, its the same with the Roco model SBB C5/6 "Elelphant" and was pleased to see Märklin bringing it out

I have found the opposite, my Roco loks with tender drive have excellent traction. tender has 4 axles driven, 2 axles with tyres. Then the main wheels are also driven from the cardon shaft so even more traction.

I would like to see some more Era I very short wheelbase wagons and coaches to go with T3 and Ptl3/3 locos.

There are a handful of coaches and beer cars have been done in the past, but some more would be nice, especially non-beerwagon items.

Hallo Everyone,

Thank you for your quite interesting responses.
I am still surprised that nobody mentioned Märklin flagship set.
I would like to see new updated Märklin 2681
Kaiser Wilhelm Hofzug with [ separate decoders ] digitally controlled lights in each car and retooled S10.1 locomotive with smoke & sound ( synchronized) ‘cause a lot of Märklin Steam locomotives have lousy sound which is not in sync with wheels revs.
K.P.E.V. P8 ( updated new tooling) & S10.1 ( updated new tooling) pulling Digital ( updated wagons) Hofzug ... Set that’s what I would like to see again.
Can you hear me Märklin ? ;)

Merry Christmas to all ! May this new year 2021 be better for everyone!

Regards,
Märklineisenbahn

Dear all,

I like the suggestion of the Garrett. I mentioned this in a previous stream, but a Cab Forward would be an interesting addition imho.

Merry Christmas to all, and a better New Year.

How about some new M track with larger radii and a 90° crossing. Another item that would be great in any track type would be left and right hand curved transition track, starting with a large radius and transitioning down to a smaller radius. This would eliminate the excessive overhang of long passenger cars on a curve.

Ah, what you want is the 1950’s modellgleis that Märklin produced in the 3900/3800 series.

Don’t hold your breath for that to happen!

Hi All,

As I collect vintage freight cars from the late 50’s to early 70’s, I would like to see another classic engine reissued. Love my French Electric from 2020 and the E44 from 2019.

Some new K.Bay freight cars would be nice.

An American switch engine. Such as an S-2, NW2 or SW 7.

New M Track would be good.

Dear Santa can you please have your Elves make some more molds so that there will be a larger variety of Marklin C track items! Since I’ve been a good old boy how about a slim double slip switch and maybe R6 and R7 curves to start!

I’m wishing all of our members a Marklin Merry Christmas!

I have some more wishes!

More K track:

R3 we're still missing one middle radius and it's hard to use the flex for that.

Turnouts for Hosenträger with slim turnouts.

Concrete!!

I am going to add a few items to my list that are based on my observations of what others would like to see:

1) A Y switch track, basically the same as the 3 way switch, but only with the outer tracks.
As seen here:
https://cdn.shopify.com/...ressive.jpg?v=1590404868

2) Curved switch tracks between R3 and R2, R4 and R3 and R5 and R4.

3) Manual signals for C Track, basically a new version of 7339

4) Sound Decoder for Stations (connected to rails) with selectable announcements for Germany, Switzerland, Austria, etc

That's it for now

Regards

Mike C

BTW. I think this thread should be named 2022 because I don´t thnik Märklin would have time to fulfill our wishes.
I also have another great idea. How about doing a complete list of our wishes and one member will send all our wishes to the Märklin department? I´ve sent a few wishes earlier.

I would like a trackbox that provides power to the track and connects to a computer via ethernet or wifi, no controls, buttons, screens, or any of that. Something simple just mains in, connect to track connect to computer - then some decent software to run it.

A bonus would then be that it runs a REST API and custom software could be written to control it.
Must build something

Hi Dale,
Unfortunately many Garratts were built for narrow gauge, and the GMA was one of these.
That makes it almost impossible for Märklin to show an interest.

The standard gauge Garratts were used (some examples) in:
UK (only a couple ever built by LMS and LNER)
Australia - the NSW AD60 class (42 in service) - all other states were narrow gauge.
NSW AD60
Algeria - French built 4-6-2+2-6-4 (29 in service) - probably the fastest recorded Garratts.
Algerian Garratt

There may be others.

Kimball
HO Scale - Märklin (ep II-III and VI, C Track, digital) - 2 rail HO (Queensland Australia, UK, USA) - 3 rail OO (English Hornby Dublo) - old clockwork O gauge - Live Steam 90mm (3.1/2 inch) gauge.

Not sure, but given M’s habit of using Insider tooling for future offerings, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a new Northlander coming.
