Hi all,

A quick question for the M track experts out there. I'm trying to hook up a 7186 turntable to a 7028 engine shed, which will only fit in one location due to compact layout dimensions and spacing. The turntable has 6 succesive outlets, however they places across the gap designed for 2 x 7028 sheds placed together for 6 stalls.

Since the gap between sheds is wider than the 3 tracks within, the turntable has a wider spacing in the center to compensate for this. Unfortunately for space reasons I have no choice but to place my shed in that center, 2 stalls on one side and a single stall on the other. (either side if fine, but has the same issue)

Has anyone sorted a workaround using filler pieces or anything else to make this work? I don't have any bits to experiment with, but somehow need to generate a solution. I'm sure I'm not the first person to run into this issue

Thanks in advance! If too confusing I can snap an image tonight

Hi
There is a topic on Stummi forum about adding tracks where you want on a 7186
The full topic is here:https://www.stummiforum.de/viewtopic.php?t=166527
The self explanatory picture is here
7186Tracks.jpg
The conditions are (in my opinion):
* to cut a rectangular square at the new track position (the registration hole). It must located exactly the same as for existing tracks
* to cut a straight M track (5106 or so) so that it look like on the picture
* feed the track separately

IMO: don't bother to have studs (puckos) on the turntable itself as the sliders allow a zone without studs
Glue the additional rail in place (cynolit or 2 component glue?)
For the TT functioning the only point is the registration hole that will stop the bridge with precision,
I hope this helps
Cheers

WOW- now that is a kitbash! Drool Fun stuff.

Back to my hack, I actually just reworked the track plan a bit to use it the way Marklin intended :) I'm working on a secret xmas present so I cannot post images here yet, but its proving quote fun ;) More to follow!

First of all, I would really try to find a more suitable position for turntable and sheds.
But if that absolutly can´t be done, then I would suggest using the Vollmer 6-stall roundhouse. (I have it myself)
It is rather modular, and comes with the necessary spacing-pieces for coping also with the old Märklin turbtable.
refs#; old: 5758, new: 45758.

Edit; Of course you dont HAVE to use all 6 stalls; You use its modularity to incorporate only the number of sheds you want.
