Wellington Railex is on this weekend.

Just for a start, couple of videos from Istein Cutting. Gauge 1 hopper trains, one loaded with coal and one empty passing.

Almost need a big white or black screen behind the display pieces instead of the stacked bleachers, but they look quite good "in the flesh" . More photos to come.

Some of the actual Meccano displays are awesome with quite a few of them specifically designed to be interactive and touched by little fingers - not so the Wunderrad or Sonnenuhr.

Still, as John points out, where else could you see those two together? Only one place, Berlin!! Laugh

One could suggest that this weekend Wellington New Zealand is the center of the Marklin Universe!!!!!!

The Marklin metal in action, the operator fielding questions about the items and the live stream on his laptop??????

The TEE was even more impressive in person - shame I didn't get to see it running before I left!

The photos of Cookee's Marklin Metal display simply just don't it justice, it looked fantastic.

And just like last year, I left with my wallet feeling a bit lighter, thanks to seeing a 37020 at Toottoot... Will have to stick a photo or two up on the 2020 purchases page later today!

Might have to join the club myself one day and "build" my Z scale layout as I don't recall seeing any this year.

Oh the things we do, now I admit I did not pay for the photo spot!!! and the draw bar between the Loco and the tender kept popping out, but this is as good a video as I could get.

Depends on what TEE train you're talking about.

The Gottardo was scratch built by a club member who lives in New Plymouth. He is a classic car restorer by trade, and works on restoring and maintaining classic car collections for their owners.

You can read here about a Plymouth Superbird Michael restored.

As for the cost of the Gottardo, your guess is as good as mine.

19 hopper cars actually (although an imposter might have been added to make up 20)! And 'Biggsie' has 2 'g's'

You'd be most welcome. There was one small Z gauge layout at the show.

I saw it first.....Wink, but then I've already got Tim Fairhall's 34020, which he sold to me about 6 years ago. It has been converted with a Loksound decoder.

We are back at the show today (Monday), although MMRCJohn and Cookee won't be there through having to do something called 'Work'.

A number of schools are bringing their students through who would otherwise not be fortunate enough to afford to pay to come to the show to have a look at the layouts. Pack up time is 2pm.
