toor is good to try too.. Don't think in English as the password creator is unlikely to think in that language.. My guess is that the user account and password is unlikely to be simple - they don't want you playing around with this thing.. Only a complete dill will keep the root user active..

so your havening cs with same hardware/software version, and don't need a password when your trying to logon via telnet.
if thats true what telnet setup do you use. i'm using the telnet.exe on a win2000 workstation.

Hi,

can't help you on the password, as my CS is 1.6.44 (unprotected), but - what cd did you get, or was it your cs that came 1 week of april??

On page 18 of my instructions they say nothing should be connected to the PC socket without the appropriate software which I presume is not yet available.

Off course they don't want anyone to find out how to use the CS without buying their software... and any connection until M* says it's ok is off course something you do (if you do it) purely on your own risk as it might void any warranty (if "they" ever find out you "did it").

I don't think it will be easy to "crack" the password, but since you've given it a try already:
one thing is for sure: IF Märklin would use it's own name as a password it wouldn't forget to have the "umlaut" on the a, so I would try: maerklin, Maerklin or MAERKLIN (since the CS doesn't support ä AFAIK)
That being said: I don't think it will work, but it's worth a try... wink

Welcome to the forum Rene.

This may be a stupid question, but did you try using no password at all/an empty password?

Sorry i have tried a lot of combinations without any result.
The last thing i did was to get a earlier version of CS without password, but it hasen't helped in way to find a user/password.
