Hi all
I recently followed the tutorial for controlling the 7186 with a keypad, but I wanted to see if anyone was able to replace the original marklin motor with a stepper motor controlled with arduino.
Thanks!

Hi Carlos

I have found this topic in French to drive a turntable with a stepper motor.http://www.train35.fr/dcc24.html
With a 7186 you cannot have (I think) the motor in the cabin to replace the other one.
Stepper motors can come with up to 400 steps per turn but they don't have a large power and cannot rotate very fast so some try to have the motor to drive directly the TT axle.
This is only my opinion.
A lot a TT projects are made from scratch with a reduced size and minimal mechanical losses (frictions) by minimizing the number of sliders
I hope this helps

Cheers
Jean
